Individual Donations from Mr. Hwang & Ms. Gu

Individual Donations | Mr. Hwang & Ms. Gu | ₩100,000 While collecting donated stuffed animals from one of our collection baskets, I was approached by two people, Mr. Hwang and Ms. Gu, who were curious about what I was doing. What began as a simple question turned into an unexpected conversation about common&good, our stuffed animal donation initiative, and the wider purpose behind our work. After hearing about the project, they independently decided to make financial contributions, amounting to ₩100,000 in total. I found the encounter surprisingly memorable. I had grown accustomed to approaching others when seeking donations, explaining our work and hoping that someone might be interested enough to support it. This time, however, the conversation happened entirely by chance. I had simply been going about the ordinary task of collecting stuffed animals, without expecting that anyone would stop to ask questions, let alone offer to contribute. It made me realise how easily opportunities for connection could emerge from the most unremarkable moments. I had spent considerable time thinking about how to communicate common&good's mission through presentations, emails, and organised fundraising campaigns, yet here were two people who became interested simply because they happened to notice what I was doing. Their curiosity reminded me that our actions could sometimes communicate our intentions more naturally than any carefully prepared explanation. I am genuinely grateful to Mr. Hwang and Ms. Gu, not only for their generosity but also for taking the time to ask about something they could easily have walked past. The experience reminded me that meaningful connections do not always begin with an invitation or a carefully planned initiative. Sometimes, they begin with someone stopping for a moment and asking a question.
