'Yesterday Has Yet to Arrive' ㅣPoetry Collection Revenue

Poetry Collection Revenueㅣ₩1,000,000 October | Yesterday Has Yet to Come Poetry Collection Revenue: ₩1,000,000 Today, I received ₩1,000,000 from my poetry collection, Yesterday Has Yet to Come. Of all the things I have written, this was perhaps the most personal. Unlike translating Anthem, where I spent months trying to understand and preserve someone else's words, writing poetry meant finding words for things I hadn't quite understood about myself. The collection began with scattered thoughts, unfinished sentences, and observations I would jot down throughout the day. Some poems came together in minutes, while others took weeks of rearranging words that never seemed to sit quite right. I found myself writing about the smallest things: changing seasons, familiar places, conversations I wished had lasted longer. Things I might otherwise have forgotten became things I wanted to remember. There was something strange about turning these private thoughts into a book for strangers to read. I wondered whether the words that meant so much to me would mean anything to someone who had never lived through the moments behind them. But perhaps that is what I like most about poetry. A poem doesn't have to mean the same thing to its writer and its reader. Receiving this payment today feels rewarding, but also a little surreal. I spent so much time trying to put fleeting moments into words, never imagining that those words might eventually contribute to something beyond the pages themselves. I wrote these poems because I didn't want certain moments to disappear from my already volatile memory. Now, I rather like the thought that they might become part of someone else's memories too.
