Marvel Run Seoul 2023

After three days of hiking with a backpack that seemed to grow heavier with every kilometre, knees that screamed for relief, and restless nights squeezed into cramped tents during my DofE expedition. Less than twenty-four hours later, after a flight from Jeju to Seoul, I found myself pinning a race bib onto that very same exhausted body. It was then that I realised something I had never considered before: choice had always been the invisible luxury behind every kilometre I ran. I could have decided that the expedition was enough. I could have skipped the race, blamed the fatigue, and no one would have questioned it. But I chose not to. That choice made me wonder how many people around the world never have one to begin with. For countless others, hardship is not something they voluntarily sign up for on a weekend. It is simply life. From that race onwards, I made a promise to myself: for every official race I complete, I donate ₩5,000 ($3.62 as of Aug 2026) for every kilometre I run.
