Running Together in Korea

2025–2026 | Running Together in Korea | 40 km, ₩200,000 Run Dates: August 25, 2025 · April 1, July 20, and August 3, 2026 During school breaks, I organised four 10 km runs in Korea with fellow common&good members, covering a collective distance of 40 km and raising ₩200,000 through our distance-based fundraising initiative. Living and studying in different places meant that much of our work together happened through messages, calls, and shared plans. These runs offered something different. For once, we were moving in the same direction, at the same pace, sharing conversations that had little to do with fundraising and occasionally slowing down for one another. I particularly appreciated how ordinary it all felt. We were simply friends running together, yet those kilometres were contributing to something beyond ourselves. I began common&good partly because I wanted to find ways of incorporating meaningful contributions into everyday life, rather than treating service as something reserved for special occasions. These runs reminded me why that mattered. Running was already something I loved, and sharing it with other members made both the activity and its purpose more meaningful. The ₩200,000 we raised was certainly valuable, but I found myself remembering the conversations, laughter, and encouragement far more vividly than the final figure. Perhaps what I appreciated most was that we did not have to choose between enjoying something for ourselves and doing something for others. Sometimes, the two could be part of the very same experience.
